Sunday obligation to attend Mass
This is to be restored in Scotland from March. It had been suspended because of the Covid 19 restrictions. It does not apply to those who are sick, self-isolating, shielding or caring for the sick and elderly.
Sick Communions The normal time for these in Brora is now after Mass on Fridays. We had to change some months ago.
THE SYNODAL PROCESS
Last year the Bishops of the Catholic World met in Rome for their Synod. Out of this meeting came the request that there would be consultation with the faithful throughout the Church. We have scheduled a meeting in St Vincent's, Tain Church Hall on Saturday May 7th at 11 a.m. for the 2 parishes of St John Ogilvie and cChrist the King
It will be led by 2 facilitators, Jane and Barbara, who are coming from Thurso to help us.
Anyone from our parish my attend, and I hope that as many of you will be able to do so.
There are a small number of printed Bulletins at the back of the church in Brora with the reading on the reverse. If you use one please take it away with you.
Repairs to the hall and church These have now been completed but funds are still required to pay for the improvements.
Face masks are no longer necessary.
Reservations are no longer required.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE SICK IN YOUR PRAYERS
Jacqui Aris-Finch, Louise Port, Calum O’Boyle, Sylvia Marlow, Robert Prendergast, Terry Giulian, Bernadette Christian, Anthony Seed, Fiona Lamond, Rhona Sutherland, Emelia McKeever, Norma Lothian, Madame Farasyn. Sandra Prendergast.
The monthly Gift Aid amount paid directly to the parish account is £350. At the moment because the church is closed this is our only Offertory Income. I was asked to prepare an interim budget for this present lock-down crisis. The shortfall between now and June is of the order of several thousand pounds. If you are a taxpayer please consider giving your Mass Offering by Gift Aid and if possible by direct payment into the Parish account (most people do this monthly), as the parish greatly benefits from the tax repaid. Thank you to those who Gift Aid. Forms are available from Christine Port who is the Gift Aid coordinator.
