CHRIST THE KING CHURCH – BRORA
14th Sunday in Ordinary Time 5th July
Parishioners are encouraged to try to participate in Mass online. The Bishop has sent us the following link:

You may have heard about the First Minister's Comments about allowing private prayer in Scottish churches from last Monday. Every time this happens the church must be deep cleaned before and afterwards. It is unlikely that public Mass will be resumed late July at the earliest. In the meantime there is nothing to prevent you driving to the car park and praying towards the Blessed Sacrament from outside. Please do not touch any door handle, unless you sanitise it afterwards.

TIMES OF MASSES IN BRORA
CORONAVIRUS!
According to the Government’s rules and the decision of the Scottish Bishops normal masses are still not permitted. With certain restrictions Requiem Mass and Weddings and Baptisms are now allowed with certain restrictions.
Priests will continue to offer mass in private normally in the house.
In the meantime the church is to remain locked.
I am in the High Risk Category: I will be self-isolating until such time as public Mass is allowed.

The Parish appeal to raise funds for repairs and maintenance to the Church and Presbytery has now reached our £20,000 target. Thank you to those who have answered our Appeal. The Appeal is still open for further donations.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE SICK IN YOUR PRAYERS
Jacqui Aris-Finch, Louise Port, Calum O’Boyle, Josie Mackay, Sheila Anderson, Sylvia Marlow, Robert Prendergast, Aileen Toft-McNamee, Terry Giulian, Bernadette Christian, Anthony Seed, Fiona Lamond, Elisa Toft, Emelia McKeever, Duncan Lamond.
The monthly Gift Aid amount paid directly to the parish account is £350. At the moment because the church is closed this is our only Offertory Income. I was asked to prepare an interim budget for this present lock-down crisis. The shortfall between now and June is of the order of several thousand pounds. If you are a taxpayer please consider giving your Mass Offering by Gift Aid and if possible by direct payment into the Parish account (most people do this monthly), as the parish greatly benefits from the tax repaid. Thank you to those who Gift Aid. Forms are available from Christine Port who is the Gift Aid coordinator.
The Peter's Pence Collection has been deferred until October.
